There is a hack on the Twitter account of the founder of Algorand. The hacker sent a series of false tweets in which he said that 1 ETH would be given away for every percentage reduction in ALGO’s price this week, along with a casual good luck message. It’s obvious that none of it is real.

Full of irony, another tweet cast doubt on Algorand’s future by quoting a fake chat with “His Excellency” Justin Sun regarding elevating Algorand’s stature with the launch of TUSD (TRUE USD) and VRUSD (VERY REAL USD). Algorand currently employs complete network control and token minting rights.

Algorand tweet

It is highly recommended that the Algorand community and the wider cryptocurrency community avoid interacting with any links, promotions, or instructions originating from the compromised account. Engaging with such content may expose users to other frauds, cause them to lose money, or compromise their personal information.

It is noteworthy that there has been no response from ALGO’s market price to these bogus tweets. Users are advised to be very wary of any promises that seem too good to be true and to only trust statements that have been validated by official Algorand channels.
It is anticipated that the Algorand team will quickly resolve the security breech and restore the integrity of their channels of communication. The community should remain updated in the interim by receiving official announcements via substitute platforms such as Discordor Telegram, and stay away from any interactions with dubious links and postings on social media
