Robinhood has taken another leap in its crypto journey by launching Ethereum (ETH) and Solana (SOL) staking for users, according to an announcement made on Monday. This new feature allows customers in the European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA) to participate in blockchain network operations while earning staking rewards.
By staking their assets, users help secure the respective networks while receiving competitive yields. This move places Robinhood in line with other leading platforms that are embracing the staking economy, offering a way for retail users to grow their holdings passively.
“We’re onboarding the world to crypto by making it as easy to use as possible,” said Johann Kerbrat, General Manager and SVP of Robinhood Crypto. “Our goal is to bring powerful tools into one intuitive platform.”
Innovative Features to Attract New Crypto Users
2025 has been a landmark year for digital assets, not just in terms of technology, but also in regulatory progress and institutional adoption. Robinhood is riding this momentum with several key offerings beyond just staking.
One highlight is the “To Catch a Token” campaign. For a limited time, Robinhood is offering a 1% boost on crypto deposits for users in the US and EU. If total deposits cross the $500 million threshold, that reward will double to 2%.
Robinhood is also preparing to launch a crypto cashback feature via its Robinhood Gold Credit Card, allowing US customers to automatically convert rewards into cryptocurrencies. This bridges traditional finance with crypto in a way that’s seamless for the end user.
AI-Powered Tools, Better Prices and Smart Tax Management
Robinhood is not stopping at incentives. The platform is deploying Cortex, an AI-powered assistant that offers real-time, curated insights for crypto tokens. Set to launch later this year in the US, Cortex will help users navigate market trends, price shifts, and token-related events. Gold members will have access to these insights directly on each asset’s detail page.
Another upcoming feature is Smart Exchange Routing, which scans multiple partner exchanges to secure the best price for each order. Customers will also benefit from tiered fees based on 30-day trading volume. API access for this system is expected soon.
For US-based traders, tax lot selection has now been introduced, allowing users to view and sell specific tax lots for better control over capital gains. This is particularly useful for high-frequency or strategic traders looking to manage their tax liabilities more effectively.
Additionally, advanced charting tools from Robinhood Legend are on their way to mobile platforms—beginning with equities and rolling out to crypto in August—providing deeper technical analysis options for serious investors.
European Expansion: Stocks, ETFs, and Crypto Perpetuals
Beyond staking, Robinhood is aggressively expanding its footprint in Europe. The firm will soon offer US stock and ETF tokens to eligible EU customers. These tokens come with no commission fees or added spreads from Robinhood and offer 24/5 market access along with dividend support.

Moreover, Robinhood plans to introduce crypto perpetual futures in the EU. These derivatives will offer up to 3x leverage and continuous exposure. The full rollout is expected by the end of summer 2025. The launch aims to give active European traders more sophisticated tools in a clean, easy-to-use interface.
“This launch will mark an important step in serving active traders across the globe,” the company noted in its official statement.
Robinhood’s Bold Bet on Crypto
Robinhood’s latest updates show a clear vision: to become a one-stop financial platform that merges traditional investing with the dynamic world of crypto. By offering Ethereum and Solana staking, alongside a range of user-focused features like crypto rewards, AI-driven analytics, and smart order routing, the company is democratising access to digital finance on a global scale.
