The official Twitter account (X) of Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has reportedly been hacked, as per recent reports. Hackers allegedly posted a malicious weblink in a new tweet, suggesting a phishing attack.

Recovery of Vitalik Buterin’s Twitter Account?

While reports claim that the Twitter account was compromised, it seems that it was swiftly recovered from the hackers. The hackers apparently shared a phishing link in a tweet discussing Consensys offering a commemorative NFT to celebrate the arrival of “Proto-Danksharding” on the Ethereum network. PeckShieldAlert alerted that the X account of the Ethereum co-founder had been hacked and contained a phishing link.

“It seems Vitalik Buterin’s Twitter account is hacked. And do *NOT* click the phishing link.”

This incident follows a series of notable crypto-related account breaches in recent times. In July 2023, the Twitter account of Uniswap founder Hayden Adams was compromised. With Buterin’s account now recovered, his latest Twitter activity showcases a blockchain privacy paper co-authored with Ameen Soleimani, among others.
