Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, marked its seventh anniversary, celebrating a significant milestone of over 200 million users worldwide. This achievement underscores the maturing digital asset industry and positions Web3 closer to reaching its first billion users, according to Binance’s Chief Marketing Officer, Rachel Conlan.
“Be Binance” Campaign Launch
To commemorate the occasion, Binance launched the “Be Binance” campaign, designed to reward and celebrate the exchange’s loyal customer base. Conlan highlighted the journey, stating,
“Through determination, curiosity, and responsibility, we’ve faced challenges and reaped rewards, thanks to our 200 million users. As we journey toward financial freedom, we stay true to our values: humility, kindness, collaboration, and gratitude.”
Dominance in the Cryptocurrency Market
With a daily trading volume exceeding $25.3 billion, Binance stands as the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange. It is more than seven times larger than its closest competitor, Coinbase, which records a daily trading volume of $3.3 billion, according to CoinMarketCap data.
Potential for Massive Growth
Despite already surpassing 200 million users, Conlan sees significant growth potential for Binance. She emphasized the importance of education and raising awareness to attract the next wave of mainstream adopters.
“200 million + is an impressive number, but both the industry and our user base still have massive potential for growth,” Conlan noted.
Binance achieved its first 100 million users in five years and doubled this number in just two more years. In the first half of 2024 alone, over 30 million new users joined the platform. Conlan believes that reaching one billion Web3 users is now a feasible goal, albeit requiring years of continued hard work.
Global Celebration and Educational Efforts
The “Be Binance” campaign will span 19 countries, offering a variety of activities including in-person meet-ups, virtual events, social media contests, and promotions. Additionally, Binance plans a series of giveaways via social media and community channels like Binance Square, offering users the chance to win a share of $7,000 worth of Binance’s BNB token and other merchandise.
